Crime in Tempe

Frequent instances of crime in Tempe that ASAP Locksmiths have helped with include student housing and bumping locks.  Young people have found out a, what used to be, well-kept secret of the locksmith trade.  Bumping locks to defeat them for entry.

The most simple way to explain what bumping means is this easy: someone can manipulate your lock and gain access to your property.  Please visit our web page regarding hi-security locks.

What we believe these criminals, and I don’t care if they are just kids in college who are bored or want to impress their frat bros; hey, it’s illegal to trespass or break into a property.  What these kids do is they buy special keys- most likely on web sites and they learn how to use these keys to open common locks found on most homes and apartments.

There is a bill being proposed to shut down these types of web sites, but hey we can still get detained in a plane on the tarmac for hours and hours against our will.  We’ll see it when we see it, but until then…protect yourself and your family.

Our clients call us and inform that their sons and/or daughters are wary and well, a little freaked out because someone got into their house unsuspecting and they don’t know how.  Word is on campus, it’s cool to bump locks!

Now,  I don’t know about you…but if my daughter was staying in a condo while going to school in Tempe, I wouldn’t want to take the chance that someone from the area could potentially get into her apartment at any time!

So, what to do?  It’s very simple…buy better locks!  We have a great deadbolt solution that doesn’t break your wallet and is POSTIVELY TOTALLY EFFECTIVE AGAINST BUMPING.

So, what are YOU going to do?  It’s very easy, call ASAP Lock & Security and we’ll make sure your kid graduates college safely.  So they can pay back those student loans-to your or the government and maybe give you a grandkid or two!
