You can thank those wonderful bleeding heart liberals in the ACLU for our upside down legal system. It is legal to draw your weapon AND shoot someone if you are in fear for your life or the life of someone else. The police officer was fully justified in the shooting or the County Attorney would have filed criminal charges against him. The “pay out” to the criminal is from our screwed up tort system. If you commit a crime and are hurt in anyway while involved in a criminal act, you should not be able to sue anyone attempting to stop you while in the process of that crime. This country needs tort reform but of course most of the people we elect to our public offices who make the laws are attorneys. They are not going to do anything to alter their ability to sue anyone for anything at anytime. Nice blog…….I had not heard of this miscarriage of justice. Is it justice when the criminal wins a lawsuit??? I don’t think so!
